Tobacco and cigarette tracking based on UHF RFID

Background

From raw tobacco to finished cigarettes, there are many people involved in this process. If the purchaser favors certain tobacco farmers, poor quality tobacco is sometimes mixed with high-quality tobacco, which ultimately harms the interests of the enterprise. There is cheating in the tobacco pre-inspection process, and the entire procurement process is not transparent, which ultimately harms the interests of tobacco farmers. Enterprises cannot collect basic information about tobacco farmers, and tobacco farmers cannot understand real-time procurement policies. Due to the lack of circulation and production information, it is difficult to track and trace each finished cigarette.

Solution

We deployed V8 handheld UHF RFID readers to customers. Each tobacco farmer is assigned an IC card with grower information and contract details. When tobacco farmers receive goods or regular technical guidance, sell tobacco to the country, or sort each batch of tobacco, they only need to scan the card with the V8 reader to add a new record. More importantly, the deployment of V8 readers helps improve productivity and save costs because it plays an important role in cigarette packaging, inventory, transportation and delivery. Now all key information is recorded, so each pack of cigarettes can be traced from raw materials to cigarette sales.

Effect

1. The manufacturer of each batch of tobacco can be traced to avoid cheating, thereby improving tobacco quality.

2. The use of RFID tags in steps such as tobacco pre-inspection, grading and weighing reduces the adulteration of inferior tobacco.

3. The number of counterfeit and inferior cigarettes can be reduced, which not only maintains the brand image, but also protects the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
